How to locate your device's id

When setting up your device to communicate with the TrackMyRide servers, one of the critical parts of the setup process is identifying the id the the servers use to identify your device.

Each TrackMyRide device has a unique four-character ID that identifies the device to the server. To ensure that the proper device is associated with the device's position reports you need to make sure you have the identification number for your device.

Follow the steps below to locate your device id

  • Login to your TrackMyRide account
    • For production server users click here
    • For beta users click here
  • Once you are logged in the system directs you to your home page (see figure below).

  • Locate the device in question and click anywhere in the device line to display the properties.

  • Click the settings icon (the gear) at the top of your device properties

  • Make note of the value in the Device ID textbox. This value must be four characters in length. If the ID displayed is less than four characters prepend zeros to the beginning of the value to make it four characters. In this example, the ID is 0047.
