What is Peplink?

Peplink is a California-based US company that makes Internet load-balancing and VPN bonding solutions. They are a hardware manufacturer that makes routers and other connectivity devices.

The routers are popular a popular solution for commercial companies and individuals that need cellular-connected Internet on the go. Many RVers, boaters, campers and businesses on the go use Peplink products to keep them connected no matter where they go. If you have a celluar connection you can have Internet access.

While Peplink routers are not the only Internet-on-the-go solution, we like them for the following reasons:

Built in GPS tracking and reporting capabilities

The official name of the company is Peplink. In the past, Peplink has used the name Pepwave to brand their routers. Sometime around the middle of 2022 Peplink dropped the Pepwave name and began using Peplink as the official name for their products.

You can consider Peplink and Pepwave to be the same thing. Even the company itself seems to go back and forth with the names using both interchangably.

We have tested the TrackMyRide system with the Peplink Pepwave Max BR1 and they work perfectly. Theoretically, any Peplink router that has the GPS forwarding feature should be able to interface with the TrackMyRide system.
