Peplink Pepwave Router Configuration

Requirements

At a minimum you will need the following:

  • A device that can be used to connect to the Pepwave router. We used a laptop computer plugged directly into the router in this example, but you could use a Mac, tablet, smart phone or any device that has the ability to connect to the router's admin interface.
  • A Peplink Pepwave router (we used a MAX BR1 for this example)

Router Firmware

Before configuring the router we recommend that you upgrade the router to the latest firmware. Peplink has added several features particular to GPS forwarding with the later versions of their firmware.

You can find the latest firmware for you router by visiting the Peplink site.

By default most Peplink routers have an IP address of 192.168.50.1. In order to connect to this you must do one of the following on your device.

  • Ensure that your device is DHCP enabled (most common method)
  • Give your device a static IP address somewhere in the 192.168.50.0/24 network range (advanced)

If you are plugged in or connected to the router you can view your network properties to find out your router's (default gateway) IP address.

Open up your web browser (we are using Microsoft Edge for this demonstation) and navigate to the web address 192.168.50.1 or whatever the address is for your router or default gateway.
